A beautiful evening in Kapu..!

I like beaches..except for the fact there is saline everywhere. Beaches bring each and everyone together to enjoy something like a sunrise or a sunset. Pleasant mornings and evenings bring the best out of people. There will be unlimited fun all over. Who would not love to enjoy clean white sand beach with less crowd..? everybody does..!

So one such beautiful, serene beach is Kapu beach. A small hamlet on the shores of Arabian sea, Kapu is just 15kms away from the buzzing city Udupi. Famous for its shores of white sand and an old lighthouse on a big rock, this beach is also popular for water fun activities such as jet ski, paragliding, horse riding, kite festivals etc. Apart from this, one can spend good time in the water since it is shallow and safe for a nice swim.

I've been to many beaches and I can say each beach is unique. There will be some attraction that differs from one-another beach. Here at Kapu, such attraction is an old lighthouse that was built during the colonial era 1901 to guide the sailors from misroutes and other threats. The crowd love this historical significance and so it should be.

The whole place was peaceful. I sat on the beach and observed different shades of sky as the sun started setting fast. Its amazing how sky transforms itself so quickly..!

Amber lit sky during sunset.
But what's more interesting was a dead Jelly fish on the shores.! The fact is any water source, especially sea with high tides wouldnt keep the dead meat within itself. It throws away the non living thing to the shore indicating such things do not belong to itself.
That was my first time to see a big Jelly fish in a dead condition. It's a slimy creature with a big head and long tentacles, apparently venomous tentacles. Not many of them attempt a fight with a Jelly fish, that'd be stupid.

The coast guards started to move the crowd out of the beach as the night fell. There were numerous eatery shacks right next to the beach. I had some junk food and pushed off to mangalore to rest for the day.

Visit Kaup (Kapu) beach: 15 kms from Udupi.
