Indi-Flip Jugalbandi..!

It was time for yet another blogger's meet, perhaps the most happening one in recent times. The blogger dad--Indiblogger tied up with master e-commerce site Flipkart and hosted an amazing party at Hard Rock Cafe, Bengaluru. Initially I did not receive the invitation, however upon request Indiblogger was kind enough to send one. I was thrilled, was counting days to attend the meet. Meet up topic was to discuss about Flipkart's new feature--#FlipkartImageSearch. 

I checked into the venue exactly by 1030 AM, many of the fellow bloggers had assembled already. Many of them were familiar. I had met them in the past blogger's meet. Although I grew up in this city, barely had I noticed this rugged place. It's a perfect place to enjoy rock music. The show began with heavy metal guitar and bouncy songs...!

After a brief introduction of bloggers who had come from different places team Flipkart jumped into action and started speaking about their journey.

"How many of you shop from Flipkart ?" To start with, Flipkart's chief marketing officer asked this question. Believe me, everybody in the hall raised their hands ! I was shocked myself. I could imagine the large scale transactions happening from their site, across the country. It's indeed a great effort.

The officer explained the amount of work that is done on daily basis in their warehouses, to fulfill our wishes. Being a flipkart customer since beginning I have seen how it grew and dominated e-commerce business in India. 

In order to improve the shopping experience, Team Flipkart have come up with a unique idea. Flipkart Image Search-- install Flipkart's app on your mobile, take photographs of any fashion item which you wish to buy, browse through flipkart's catalog, find the exact item or related items, place the order. Bingo.! Is it not simple, I found it immensely helpful.

The team then asked us to experience the look and feel of the feature. Fellow bloggers shot many questions related to flipkart's shopping application. Flipkart's team without losing patience addressed all the queries. It was informative.  

We then got sometime for beverages. I met few bloggers and shared with them the work that I do. Many of them were foodies, poem lovers, story tellers, travelers. 

So, the next event was interesting. A group of 20 members were formed. I was part of Team-5 our team leader named the team as Vyapam, needless to say why..! The rules of the game was to find as many fashion items as possible using Flipkart's image search app within 10 mins.

Without losing any time the team members started clicking photographs of shoes, watches, bags, shirts, pants, wallets and searched on app. 

One of the employee from Flipkart validated our items on flipkart app. About 32 items matched through Flipkart image search feature..! A whooping number which none of the team made it. We had won.!! That was fantastic.

The last leg of the event was food. People thronged to dining set and tasted delicious pasta, ice cream with brownies. It was yummy. As an icing on top was a troop dance by Hard Rock Cafe's staff entertained the audience. 

One thing which impressed me was the book release. Indiblogger released a book which have the collection of 10 love stories authored by co-bloggers. It was an amazing gesture and tribute paid to all passionate bloggers who are creative writers.

With a free copy of the book and loads of fun it was time for me to depart until next smashing blogger's meet. Thanks to Indiblogger..!
